Summary of the DeepMind shake-up, for those who were confused like me

I had to read the GONOM post twice, so here is my short version.

Demis Hassabis stops being chief executive of Google DeepMind. He becomes chair of the lab and chief scientist at Alphabet, and stays chief executive of Isomorphic Labs, the drug discovery spin-out. Koray Kavukcuoglu, the CTO, will lead DeepMind and report to Sundar Pichai.

At the same time Jeff Dean and Sanjay Ghemawat are leaving to start a company called Discovery Loop. Alphabet shares fell 4%. Business Today linked it to the delayed Gemini 3.5 Pro.

As an old pharmacist, I am happy he keeps Isomorphic. Drug discovery needs people like him.
