'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' passes $1 billion in six days, second only to 'Endgame'

Spider-Man: Brand New Day crossed $1 billion at the worldwide box office after six days in cinemas, Variety Australia reported on August 4. Only Avengers: Endgame got there faster. The film had $407 million in North America after four days, the fastest any film has passed $400 million there, and $645.8 million from overseas.

Variety Australia added a local angle: it is already the biggest film of 2026 in Australia, with the country's biggest opening weekend since 2019 and the second-biggest of all time.

Khaleej Times, in Dubai, said the film had officially become the second-fastest to $1 billion. It cited trade reports naming China as the largest international territory, with roughly $121 million on opening weekend, and pointed to strong results in Europe, Latin America and Asia without giving figures. The film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and starring Tom Holland and Zendaya, continues the story after Spider-Man: No Way Home.

How each outlet framed it

  • Variety Australia — the domestic speed record and the Australian chart.
  • Khaleej Times — the global race and China's share.

Where the numbers differ: Khaleej Times gave ranges rather than single figures, putting the opening weekend at $355–360 million and the global debut at $927–932 million, because the estimates changed between Sunday and Monday.
