cottage pie in a heatwave makes total sense to me, fight me
Waitrose says cottage pie sales are up 110% during the heatwaves and they're calling it 'reverse comfort eating'. Honestly I get it. After a week of cold noodles and salad you just want something warm and heavy.
In Japan we have the same thing with hot ramen in August. Anyone else secretly a winter eater all year?
