how do you survive politics at family barbecues?

It's barbecue season and my uncle has Opinions. Last weekend he started on taxes before the burgers were even flipped. I'm a photographer, I was holding a camera, I could not escape.

What's your strategy? I currently pretend my phone is ringing but I've used it four times and my aunt is onto me.
