Do footballers really eat plain pasta before every match?
I was a chef for 30 years, hotels mostly, and once we had a visiting team stay with us. The order was boring: pasta, no sauce, grilled chicken, rice. I was quite offended as a cook.
But now I see videos of players saying they eat sushi, or steak, or their mother's cooking. So which is true today? Is the plain pasta thing still what nutritionists ask for, or it is old idea from the 90s?
Asking also because my grandson plays at school level and he wants to eat like a pro. I would rather he eat like a person.
