How do you do a big museum without your brain melting after 90 minutes?
Every time I go to a big museum I start like a hero. I read every label, I look at every pot. Then around room 12 I am just walking past Rembrandts thinking about lunch.
I read somewhere that this is a known thing, people call it museum fatigue. For my journalism course I want to write a short piece on it, but also I just want to enjoy the Rijksmuseum properly for once.
So: do you pick 5 works and ignore the rest? Go early? Audio guide or no? Sit down a lot? I'm curious what actually works for people, not what the museum websites say.
