Unpopular opinion: most 'so bad it's good' films are just bad

I'm going to be that person. I think the 'so bad it's good' label is mostly a social thing. The Room is fun with a crowd throwing spoons. Alone on a Tuesday, it's just a long, awkward film.

Same for most of the cult favourites. The fun comes from the audience and the jokes, not from the film itself.

The real exceptions, in my view, are films that are bad with a strange personal sincerity, like Ed Wood's. Happy to be argued with, but please bring examples you've watched alone.
