First music festival this summer — what do I need to know?

My friends convinced me to go to a festival in July, 3 days, camping. I never did this before. I am a bit nervous honestly.

What is essential to bring? Is camping terrible or ok? How do you meet friends again if phone has no signal? Any tips are welcome!
