43% of travellers put off by visa rules. What's your worst visa story?

The GONOM post on the IATA survey says 43% of air travellers were put off visiting somewhere by immigration rules, up from 33% last year, and 53% of those said the process was too complex.

As a French passport holder I admit I have it easy. But I once spent three hours filling an online form that asked me for my father's place of birth, the name of my primary school and my hotel's postcode, then rejected my photo for 'shadows'. There were no shadows. I was the shadow.
