Best budget noise-cancelling headphones for a 14-hour flight? (Sydney to Europe)

Heading to Europe in a few weeks for my nephew's wedding, partly timed so I can catch some World Cup games in a pub over there. Sydney to anywhere is brutal and the last time I did it with cheap earbuds I arrived feeling like I'd been sitting next to a jet engine, which I suppose I had.

Not looking to spend premium money. Something comfortable for hours, decent battery, noise cancelling that actually works on engine hum. What have you lot used on long-haul?
