How to tell my wife I want to save more without starting a fight?

I am 52, delivery driver. My wife manages the house money. She does a good job, I am not complaining about her.

But I am worried about the future. In 8-10 years I cannot ride the bike all day. I want us to save more every month. When I start to talk about it, it becomes 'you think I waste money?' and then it is a fight.

How do you talk about money with your partner without it becoming about blame? I want to be on the same side.
