World Cup starts tomorrow: is VAR and offside tech making football better?

With the World Cup kicking off, I want to ask a tech question that is also a football question. Over the last years we got VAR, semi-automated offside with cameras tracking players, goal-line technology, sensors in the ball.

As an engineer I like that decisions are more accurate. But as a fan I also miss the moment where you celebrate immediately without waiting two minutes to see if a toe was offside. Where do you stand? Is there a balance?
