Rainy day with a toddler: how do you survive without screens all day?

Rainy season is over but autumn typhoon days still come, and some days we just can't go out. My son is two and a half and has endless energy.

I try to limit TV, but by 3pm on the second rainy day I'm tired and running out of ideas. We have done blocks, drawing, a little 'cooking' with rice and cups, and a blanket fort.

What do other parents do for indoor days? Especially for small apartments where running around isn't really possible. I would love simple ideas that don't need lots of materials.
