PSA from a bus driver: 35.1C at Kew. In MAY.

UK broke its May record two days running, 34.8C then 35.1C at Kew. The old record was 32.8C from 1944. UKHSA has the heat-health alerts at amber.

From behind the wheel: buses get properly hot, so carry water and don't be a hero if you feel dizzy. Tell the driver, we'd much rather stop than deal with someone fainting. And the nights are warm too (21.3C minimum at Kenley), so sleep will be rubbish. Plan around it.
