TWICE's Nayeon returns Nov. 20 with 'NA-sty': album or single? Reports differ
Nayeon of TWICE will return as a solo artist on November 20 with “NA-sty”, her agency JYP Entertainment said on Monday. Yonhap reports that the title joins part of her name, the Korean word “na” meaning “I”, with the English word “nasty”, and that it will show both her bright, playful side and a more daring character.
The Korea Herald first reported the comeback on October 21 as an exclusive, quoting an industry source who placed it in the third week of November and a JYP official who confirmed the timing.
“As always, K-pop idol schedules are subject to frequent changes, so the exact comeback date remains uncertain.” — industry source, via The Korea Herald
It will be her first solo release in almost two and a half years. Both of her previous EPs, “Im Nayeon” (2022) and “Na” (2024), debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200. The Korea Herald says the first made her the first K-pop solo artist to enter that chart's top 10.
How each outlet framed it
- Yonhap — the agency announcement: date, meaning of the title, and her hits “POP!” and “ABCD”.
- The Korea Herald — a scoop, then the confirmation, with her Billboard chart history.
Where the accounts differ: Yonhap describes “NA-sty” as a new solo album. The Korea Herald's exclusive also spoke of an album, but its report on the date calls it a solo single, with “NA-sty” as the title of both the release and the lead track. JYP's track list, which would settle it, had not been published.
