Open air cinema season is starting — how it works in your city?

In Spain from June many cities have "cine de verano", outdoor cinema in parks, rooftops or old patios. Usually cheap, sometimes free, start late (like 22:00 when sun is gone). Bring a cushion, the chairs are hard, and bring something for the mosquitos!

Does your city have this? Do they show new films or more classics? I am curious if it's same in other countries.
