Quick timeline on the Suu Kyi story, for anyone who's lost

Saw a few confused comments so here's the short version, all from the GONOM post and its sources:

- February 2021: military ousts her elected government, she's detained.
- Sentenced to 18 years on charges she denies.
- August this year: Red Cross visit (per ThePrint).
- April: moved to house arrest, after a military-engineered election made coup leader Min Aung Hlaing president.
- October 22: son Kim Aris announces a phone call, first in over five years.
- Three days later: Aris calls it a 'public relations' move and says she seems to be in near-complete isolation.

She's 81. Her son says she still sounds sharp and strong, which is honestly the one bit of good news in all this. Guardian follow-up linked below if you want his full interview.
