US inflation 3.8% tier list: what can we no longer afford
The new US numbers: inflation at 3.8%, gasoline above $4.50 a gallon, groceries up 0.7% in one month led by meat. As a photographer I take this personally, so here's my tier list of things becoming luxury goods:
Still fine: core inflation "only" 2.8%, so apparently my rent is not the problem (it is)
Getting spicy: meat. Going vegetarian for budget reasons, not ethics
Luxury tier: a full tank of petrol
Mythical: the Fed cutting rates before 2027
I'm in India so not my CPI but our fuel situation rhymes. Add yours.
