Mechanic question: are EV battery packs actually repairable, or just replaced?

I've been a mechanic in Incheon for about 25 years, mostly engines. More EVs are coming into the shop now and I want to understand the battery side better before I'm left behind.

When a pack has a problem, is it normally possible to replace individual modules or cells, or does the whole pack get swapped? The full pack price is terrifying for customers. I've heard some makers design packs that can be opened and repaired, while others glue everything together.

Any technicians or engineers here who can share what training is worth doing? Thank you, I appreciate the help.
