Shout-out to civil servants during every change of government!

I work in the federal public service in Canada, and every time there's a new government I'm amazed at how smoothly it mostly goes! New minister arrives, briefing books are ready, the lights stay on, cheques go out!

People love to complain about bureaucrats, and fair enough sometimes, but a neutral public service is a huge part of why a change of power isn't a crisis. I wish more people noticed it!
