Fell down the mechanical keyboard rabbit hole. A short guide to switches

I type all day for work (sales emails, endless CRM notes), so I finally bought a mechanical keyboard. Then a second one. Then switches. My colleagues are worried about me.

For anyone curious, the three basic switch types: linear (smooth all the way down, quiet-ish, gamers like them), tactile (a small bump you feel when the key registers, nice for typing), and clicky (a bump plus a loud click, beloved by the user, hated by everyone nearby).

Hot-swap boards let you pull switches out and try others without soldering, which is how the rabbit hole gets you. My advice: buy a cheap switch tester pack (a little board with one of each) before buying a full set. Your ears and your officemates will thank you.

What do you all type on?
