Climate Talk

Free climate and energy data sources I use for my research!

PhD student in environmental science here, people keep asking me where I get charts, so here is my list!

Our World in Data - best place to start, clean charts on emissions, energy mix, everything downloadable!
Copernicus Climate Change Service - European monthly temperature bulletins and the ERA5 reanalysis data!
NASA GISS / NOAA - long global temperature records!
Ember - electricity generation by country, updated often, great for solar and wind trends!
Global Carbon Project - yearly carbon budget numbers!

Tip: always check if a chart shows per capita or total, and production-based or consumption-based emissions. Half of the internet fights come from mixing these up!
