Are we only getting sequels now? I looked at my own ticket history

I went through my last 2 years of cinema tickets. 19 films. 13 of them were sequels, remakes or part of a franchise. Only 6 were original stories.

Tiny dataset obviously, it's just me. But it matches the feeling. That said, a big original like Project Hail Mary opening to $80.5M (per the GONOM post) shows people do show up for something new. So is it the studios or is it us buying tickets for the sequels?
