Which films have the best cinematography you've seen on a big screen?
Photographer here, so I may be biased, but some films just made my jaw drop because of the light, not the story.
For me: Roger Deakins' work on Blade Runner 2049 (that orange haze sequence), In the Mood for Love for the colours and framing through doorways, and Lawrence of Arabia, which I finally saw restored on a big screen and understood why people talk about it.
What are yours? Bonus if you can explain what exactly made it work, the lens, the lighting, the colour grade.
