Climate Talk

UK weather forecast translation guide, for the international members

'Changeable' = it will rain, then it will stop, then you'll take your coat off, then it will rain.

'Mild for the time of year' = still need a coat.

'Scorchio' = 24C, everyone panics, the trains melt.

'Light drizzle' = you are wet but it's not technically rain so you can't complain.

'Amber warning' = the BBC weather presenter is wearing a serious jacket.

Go on, what's your country's version?
