Economy Talk

What's the cheapest thing that made your life noticeably better?

Mine is a proper kitchen knife! Bought a decent one years ago for not much and suddenly I actually enjoy cooking, which means I eat out less, which means it has paid for itself about fifty times over!

Runner-up: a library card. Free books, free films, and in my town even free tools to borrow. Why did nobody tell me this in my twenties?!

Go on, share yours. Bonus points if it cost less than a takeaway coffee.
