the espresso machine at my cafe now has an app and needs wifi. why

owner bought a new machine. it's great honestly, shots are consistent. but it has an app, it wants a firmware update, and yesterday it refused to steam milk for a minute because it was 'syncing'

i just want to make a flat white. i don't need my espresso machine to have an opinion about the cloud
