Game Talk
What game QA work is actually like, from someone who does it
People always assume my job is 'playing games all day'. It is, technically, in the same way that a food inspector eats lunch all day. Most of my week is walking into the same wall at slightly different angles, writing it down in a precise way, and then checking the fix two builds later.
The hardest part isn't finding bugs, it's writing a report a developer in another time zone can reproduce on the first try. Steps, build number, frequency, video. If it's vague, it comes back to you.
The rewarding part is when you catch something nasty before launch and nobody outside ever knows. That's the job working. Happy to answer questions if anyone is curious about getting into it.
