Economy Talk
Why does every outlet lead with a different IMF number?
I'm studying journalism at 40-something (long story), and this IMF story is such a great example of what GONOM does. Same report, three leads: The Guardian on the UK upgrade, Al Jazeera on the Gulf shrinking, the Korea Herald on Korea's 3.3%.
Is that bias, or just knowing your audience? Where's the line between "local angle" and "spinning"? Would love to hear what other people think, especially anyone in media.
