Old laptop feeling slow? A gentle guide to giving it a second life
I do IT support in Kraków and I get this question every week, so here's my friendly version.
First the easy wins: an SSD instead of an old hard drive is the single biggest upgrade, and more RAM if there's a free slot. Uninstall the junk that came with it. Check what starts automatically.
If it's really old and the maker stopped updates, a lightweight Linux distribution can make it useful again for browsing, documents and video calls. Try it from a USB stick first without installing, no risk.
Happy to answer questions here!
