Ubisoft moves to close Trials studio RedLynx and cut 70 jobs in Singapore
Ubisoft said on Wednesday, October 14, that it plans to close RedLynx, the Finnish studio behind the Trials motorbike games, affecting up to 52 jobs, subject to local negotiations. It also said 70 positions at Ubisoft Singapore, lead studio on Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced, had been impacted, Eurogamer reported.

Ubisoft gave no reason for closing RedLynx. Eurogamer noted the studio's last major standalone release was Trials Rising in 2019, and that Ubisoft bought it in 2011 after the success of Trials HD. The company has been reorganising, moving major franchises into a new subsidiary, Vantage. Trials creator Antti Ilvessuo, who left years ago, told Eurogamer he was proud of what the team built.

- Video Games Chronicle — the news as a plan to shut the studio and lay off Singapore staff.
- Engadget — the total: another studio and up to 122 workers.

What we don't know yet: Whether Black Flag Resynced's schedule changes. Ubisoft said the Singapore studio “remains an important part” of its production, but gave no new dates.
