Morocco's coalition maths, explained by a teacher who loves fractions

Morocco has its first woman PM, Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri, and congratulations to her. Now the homework.

PAM won 97 of 395 seats. Majority is 198. So she needs 101 more. RNI has 66, Istiqlal 65, PJD 54. Any two of those plus PAM gets there, but PAM ruled out staying with the RNI during the campaign. Then she said "We have turned the page." Class, what do we learn? Campaign promises have a short shelf life.

Turnout about 38%, down from roughly 50%. That's the number I'd underline in red.
