how do you actually track your spending? app, spreadsheet, vibes?

ok genuine question. I keep saying I'll budget properly and then it's the end of the month and I have no idea where $400 went. I work in IT so you'd think I'd be good at this lol

Do you use an app? Your bank's built in thing? A spreadsheet? Envelopes of cash like my grandma? What actually stuck for you and how long did it take before it became a habit?
