Two Nintendo Directs in two days: Ocarina of Time on 5 November, then Kirby, Metroid, Persona 6

Nintendo held two Directs on consecutive days. The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct on 8 September dated the Ocarina of Time remake for 5 November 2026, exclusively on Switch 2, Game Informer reported. It said the remake “dramatically changes the visual style” of the 1998 Nintendo 64 original, towards what it called stylised realism.

Gfinity Esports pointed out that the date is “exactly two weeks before Grand Theft Auto 6 drops”, though GTA 6 is not coming to Switch 2. It said the Zelda Direct also covered the live-action film and a 40th anniversary concert tour, and showed a limited-edition Zelda Switch 2.

The general Direct on 9 September followed. Game Informer listed Kirby and the World Beyond, a 3D open-world adventure for spring 2027; Metroid Ravenous, a 2D entry, on 28 January; Professor Layton and the New World of Steam on 10 December; Persona 4 Revival on 20 May; Persona 6, confirmed for Switch 2 without a date; and Monster Hunter Wilds on Switch 2 from 4 December.

Japan's Dengeki Online had announced the broadcasts for 11pm Japan time, about 30 minutes for Zelda and 45 for the general show, focused on Switch 2 games for winter 2026.
