Spring cleaning your finances: a simple checklist

It's spring here in Australia, so alongside the cupboards I do a yearly tidy of the household money. Takes about an evening.

1. List every direct debit and subscription and cancel what you don't use. 2. Check when your insurance and energy deals end. 3. Look at your super or pension statement properly, not just the balance. 4. Set one savings goal for the next six months. Nothing fancy, but it's surprising what turns up.
