rate my country's food tradition: surströmming season

Late August means surströmming parties in parts of Sweden. Fermented herring in a can that bulges because it's still fermenting. You open it outside, ideally downwind, and eat it on thin bread with potato and onion.

Honest question for everyone: does your country have a food that smells terrible but people love? And would you try ours? Please rate 1 to 10.
