Hawker centres are the best social space ever invented, change my mind

In Singapore I eat at the hawker centre almost every day. Uncle selling chicken rice next to a young guy doing fusion pasta. Office workers, construction guys, grandmothers, everyone at the same plastic tables. You share a table with strangers and nobody finds it weird.

I think it does something for the society that's hard to measure. People from different backgrounds see each other daily. Does your country have something like this? A place where everyone just mixes?
