Next total eclipse: 2 August 2027, southern Spain + North Africa. Planning notes

Since a lot of people here got hooked after the Spain eclipse, I've been reading up. Per the GONOM post, the next total eclipse on 2 August next year crosses southern Spain, North Africa, Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

A few things I took from this year's coverage: book early, because about 460,000 visitors came to Spain and opticians and pharmacies sold out of eclipse glasses. Expect heat, it was near 40C. And check the path width carefully, because even the outlets disagreed this year (about 200km vs just under 300km).

I'd love to hear from anyone who's done an eclipse trip before on how far ahead to book.
